Record it. I’m sure that this is one
week of television you don’t want to miss, and you can’t count on being
available to watch every minute of awesomeness live. So, make sure you clear
your DVR to make enough space for all the shark shows you’re itching to see.
Grab a Pal. Know another shark freak
such as yourself? Great! There’s safety in numbers, and it’s more fun, too!
Snack it up. Don’t let the sharks be
the only ones to eat big. Go out and pick up some candy or a tub of ice cream. Get
the corn poppin’. To really make an event out of it, try making the kind that
doesn’t come in a microwavable bag! Cook up a delectable dessert with your
shark viewing buddy or make your own mini pizzas! Want to be extra cute/nerdy? Get
a shark-shaped cookie cutter and make shark cookies! How adorable! Or you can
pick up some shark-shaped gummies from the store.
Get comfy. Ah! No, I don’t mean AAGH!
As in what you’ll be screaming when that Great White launches himself
unexpectedly at the camera. Contented ahs
are important as well this week. Get the comfiest seat you can so you’re
distracted as little as possible from the events unfolding on screen. My
favorites? A huge bean bag chair or a super plush couch. Do you have children or little
brothers and sisters? They make bean bags that fit kids or adults at this site that are super fun to watch TV on. Keep a soft blanket nearby
with which to hide under as well. The bed is comfortable too, but you might
have dreams of sharks swimming in your room after a night of viewing on there!
For the kids (and adults
who feel left out): Have a Shark Week party and play a game to guess each
other’s favorite sharks. Get face paintings of your favorite. Have everyone
bring a shark toy with them to the party as TV watching buddies.
Follow the above recommendations, and Shark Week’s 25th Anniversary will surely be a week to remember. (Let’s just hope that scary commercial Discovery Channel played about the Great White leaping through the screen doesn’t come true!) Good hunting!
